JEALOUSY 2003

The cells of the human body are constantly renewing themselves…

1.

If there is no one

to be jealous of,

she recollects

my first kiss

and is jealous

of her former lips

2.

but she forgets:

in front of her is standing

a totally new model

of my body

3.

which is –though it’s the newest–

30 years older

than the oldest model

born in 1973

4.

DOORS

“… knock, and it shall be opened unto you”, Matthew 7:7

When God slammed shut the lastest of the wounds,
which you forgot to close
when you left, He said:
Knock, and I’ll open unto you.

I knocked and knocked…

A knife was clenching both my fists.
The doors swung open one after another,
but behind each one I found only myself,
with a knife stuck in my back.

the left will feel itself smitten.

and you,

in your humility,

will turn to me again the kissed:

to punish its unfaithfulness

by giving it a second kiss.

MULTIPLICATION BY DIVISIONOR LOWER MATHEMATICS

Life

multiplies the nights without you by me

The death

divides the days I want to be with you by me

and gets plus infinity

and you:

My heart divided into atoms

and a billion of body cells in cash:

To help you lull to sleep

the life and death…

while counting me

unhurriedly…

NAMASTE

(A Hindu greeting meaning “I hail the Godly spirit in you”)

For Stanislava Tasheva

I’m seeking only the poetical in you,

because we “give the godly things to God”,

but it is turning out I cannot take a single verse:

with poetry you’re even godlier.

WINTER

The autumn

fell in love

with my daisy

and plucked its petals

one by one…

And now

the only thing I do

to overwhelm my jealousy

is plucking

all Septembers

and Octobers,

and Novembers

from the calendars I see.
